Tiki Taco Tuesday Debuts at Long Beach’s Original Tiki Bar

What’s better than Taco Tuesday? TIKI Taco Tuesday! Long Beach’s original Tiki bar & restaurant, The Bamboo Club has just rolled out a new night in its ever-growing list of nightly happenings. Guests can explore 4 NEW tacos, available on Tuesdays only, and mix and match the varieties which include:
Vegan house-made Soyrizo served picadillo style with grilled onions and peppers. Drizzled with spicy mayo and topped with cilantro & onions
Vegetarian Cheesy Mashed Potato, lightly deep fried and served with spicy mayo on the side and chives
Tempura Grouper Fish served with house-made Quemada sauce, spicy mayo, slaw, and house-made pineapple pico de gallo.
Glazed Pork Belly, with house-made Quemada, pineapple pico de gallo, cabbage, & cilantro
All are served a la carte on corn tortillas and gluten-free, and start at $2.50 each. Pair with one of The Bamboo Club’s famed tiki cocktails such as the Dr. Bamboo, featuring Dr. Bird Jamaican rum, 151 rum, All-Spice, prickly pear, and cinnamon, or a classic Mai Tai.

Begonia Show & Sale at Sherman Library & Gardens

The Southern California Begonia Society will present a spectacular two-day show and sale at Sherman Gardens on Saturday & Sunday, September 17 & 18 until 4 p.m. each day. The show offers a rare opportunity to explore the many varieties of gorgeous locally grown begonias. A large selection of begonias not typically available for sale in local nurseries will be available for purchase.
Even if you're not a true "Begoniac" you'll marvel at the fabulous foliage and beautiful blossoms. Experts will be on hand to answer your questions and enhance your begonia education.
Did you know that Sherman Gardens is home to over 130 unique varieties of begonias? You’ll find many of them in the Specimen Shade Garden.
The show will include an exhibit, plant sale, and drop-in talks. Free with garden admission. Garden admission is always free for Members and only $5 for Non-Members.
